Ingredients

  • 9 sheets of Ronzoni oven-ready lasagna noodles
  • 1 jar marinara or meat sauce
  • 1 lb cooked ground beef or turkey
  • 15 oz ricotta or cottage cheese
  • 1 egg (optional)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Italian seasoning, salt, pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a bowl, mix ricotta or cottage cheese, egg, Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
  3. Combine cooked ground meat with sauce in a separate bowl.
  4. Spread a layer of sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Place a layer of dry Ronzoni noodles over the sauce.
  6. Spread cheese mixture over the noodles.
  7. Add meat sauce, then a layer of shredded mozzarella.
  8. Repeat layers until dish is nearly full.
  9. Top with noodles, sauce, and remaining cheese.
  10. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  11. Uncover and bake another 10–15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  12. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the cheese mixture or fresh basil to the sauce. Letting the lasagna rest before slicing ensures clean layers.
